Sara Sturek was raised in Long Island, New York. She received a B.A in both Creative Writing and Communication from the University of Southern California. She is currently pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at NYU as a Goldwater Writing Workshop Fellow. She is the recipient of the 2022 Gene and Etta Silverman Award and the 2021 Mark Greenberg Fellowship in Poetry. She now lives in New York City, working on a memoir and her first poetry collection.
